Hello,
I'm Aurora Branciamore,
Since 1970 I have been operating in the field of underwater cruises with the HALIFAX, the INNOCENZA, the DAMIERE and the TOKOMARU, in particular I have developed notoriety and considerable experience in the destinations in the RED SEA, where I have armed famous boats such as the MAKATEA, the FELICIDAD I and the FELICIDAD II. I embarked on this adventure with my ex-husband, Angelo Della Valle, when Sudan was still a destination unknown to many. It can be said that I raised my children, Marcantonio and Federico Della Valle, in a boat and underwater (see video) and then, when they grew up, they supported me for years giving me great help, I am grateful to all of them.
Over the years and on these boats, as already written in the Home, I have had the honor of hosting illustrious personalities and fathers of world diving, I will mention just a few of them, Folco Quilici, Hans Hass, Leni Riefenfthal, Raimondo Boucher and Luciana Civico, Gianfranco Barnabei, (with him my 6-year-old sons Marcantonio and 3-year-old Federico were guests at RAI 2 like the youngest children who went underwater), Pippo Cappellano and Marina Cappabianca, "The Doc" Pasquali Longobardi, Umberto Pellizzar, and lately, Cèline Cousteau.
Furthermore, I have collaborated with the most important journalists and professional photo-cinematographers in the sector but for different reasons Andrea Ghisotti and Luca Sonnino Sorisio, dear and irreplaceable friend and companion of many dives who have always supported and encouraged me, remained particularly in my heart. even in the darkest periods. I am always grateful to Renza and Pierfranco Di Lenge for everything they taught me, both as a photographic subject and how to get the right shot.
All these characters have enriched my experience and even if unfortunately some of them are gone, I was happy to meet them and they will always remain in my fondest memories.
Others have relied on my organization to do some of their jobs and I apologize to them for forgetting to mention them.
Like all diving enthusiasts but not only, driven by the curiosity to know other depths but also to be able to improve our services, comparing myself with other organizations in my sector, over the years, I have undertaken many trips, more or less adventurous but even if all wonderful, some of these have remained in my heart. Polynesia, where in Fakarawa I saw the largest assembly of gray sharks, the Galapagos with the incredible presence of hammerhead sharks, seals and sea lions and on land with its numerous islands that host an incredible variety of animals and plants unique in the world , biodiversity safeguarded by institutions, Papua and New Guinea, beautiful underwater but where I was especially impressed by the gathering of Mount Hagen, the incredible gathering of the various local tribes, previously always at war with each other and now challenging each other in a festival of traditional rituals made of drums, songs and dances, of men and women, colorful paintings and spectacular ornaments! Here is my little reportage published by Nautica.
With great pride I am a Knight of the Sea of Marevivo, an environmental association that I have always followed and admired, led by two wonderful ladies and friends, Rosalba Giugni and Carmen di Penta.
In the 90s I organized "I Viaggi di Marevivo" bringing its members, divers and non-divers, to the villages of the Holiday Club, enriching their stays not only with excursions and diving but also with interesting meetings and lessons made by a scientific committee of excellence, made up of men of science but also men of the sea, such as Prof. Federico De Strobel, Prof. Francesco Cinelli, Prof. Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara and Prof. Paolo Colantoni.
Rich in this knowledge, with friends Luigi Ghelia, Fabio Barbieri and Gianfranco Grandi I contributed to the design and construction of SPELEOMAR in Palinuro.
Repeated manifestation for several years.
Always assured with DAN Europe, founder and president the well-known Dr. Alessandro Maroni, of whom I proudly define myself as a friend, who with his team and reliable organization is always ready to assist and support us for any problem you may encounter during our business underwater.
To best present my beloved Sudan and its Red Sea I don't want to do it with my words, which could be biased but for you I have collected material, brochures and articles from various magazines in the sector, written by some of the journalists and photographers divers mentioned above and through their words and images I hope to make you relive our emotions in the best possible way.
If you like to see all this material, you simply have to click on each boat, you will find them in order of dates and made on that boat.
If, on the other hand, you want to see them all together, click on NEWS and they will appear, in chronological order.
Among all these articles I want to point out the old article by Luca Sonnino Sorisio published on Arcipelaghi "IL SUDAN", chosen among many because it describes most of our dive sites and where his love for these places shines through. His is also the wonderful book of poems and images mostly shot in Sudan "RAPSODIA BLU" (First edition of 2005)
